Day to Night with AUrate Jewelry

If you haven’t heard of AUrate, they are a jewelry company that makes high quality, fair priced pieces in NYC with ethically sourced materials. And for every piece that is sold, an economically underprivileged child receives a book. Their jewelry is beautiful AND does good! I have decided to take part in their day to night challenge. With just a few changes, your day wear can easily become an outfit for a night out.

For the day time look, I work a ruffle sweater, mustard skirt and little black boots. I paired it with this red handbag for a fun pop of color. I think this diamond bar necklace  would compliment this outfit perfectly. It’s very simple so it wouldn’t compete with the ruffles on the sweater and I just love the black diamonds! This is definitely a piece that can be worn in the daytime but could also translate into a look for night.

A night time look for me is all about more dramatic makeup and playing with layers or accessories. I swiped on my favorite red lipstick, swapped out my bag and put on this leather jacket.

The necklace would easily carry over into the night look, but I would also add these pyramid earrings for more of a statement. They make so many beautifully designed earrings from posts to jackets and from more simple to statement.

Jewelry is such a fun thing to play with because it can so easily change or enhance an outfit. I hope you enjoyed these looks and are inspired to create your own day to night outfits!

I completely forgot to post about this top! If you haven’t heard of Sezane, they are a French company that makes beautiful women’s clothing and accessories. They recently opened a store in New York and I want to make a trip into the city to go! I saw this top on their website and instantly fell in love. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a blouse but I justified it as a birthday present to myself. It’s all lace and has gorgeous embroidery on the front and ends of the sleeves. I need to make a skirt I can pair it with!

Changing leaves

We’re starting to get some fall colors in the trees, but it’s still pretty warm here. I just love this cozy blanket scarf I got from Modcloth last year. I paired it with a chambray shirt and a wool skirt I thrifted. The skirt was way too big so I pretty much took it apart and restitched it. I’m also wearing another new pair of boots (there was a really good sale!). They are very soft and pretty comfy! I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Having a nice dinner out for my birthday, pumpkin picking and MAYBE a new tattoo!

Happy birthday to me!

I turned 29 today! We’re not really celebrating until Friday but I’m looking forward to some ice cream cake and watching a Halloween movie with Michael tonight. I’m wearing my Seamwork Kenedy dress I made. I paired it with some tights, a leather jacket and some new boots I treated myself to this week! I’ll have to get a better picture of them next time. I just love the studded details around the back of them! (And yes, I borrowed Michaels birthday balloons for these photos, haha)
